BHSC and the US SAILING Golden Anchor Program
Written by Administrator
Monday, 01 June 2009

US Sailing is the governing body of sailing in the United States. Volunteer committees develop and refine the rules that control our races. They develop courses for training in all aspects of sailing: Race Management, Safety, Instructors, Officials, Racing and Cruising. All of the activities are designed to improve the sport of sailing and racing. It is very important that all sailors support US Sailing by becoming dues paying members.

BHSC is a Golden Anchor Program member that entitles our members to a reduced membership fee. It also provides credits to BHSC for each member who joins through BHSC. These credits are used for racing supplies and merchandise for raffle prizes. For these reasons, we ask you to join through BHSC rather than on your own.

This year, because there is a new version of the Racing Rules of Sailing, all USS members receive a copy of the rule book. If you have not renewed or joined, please send a check to BHSC for $50/individual or $75/ family to Mike Barry, 16 Hillsboro Drive, Orchard Park, NY 14127. Please do this today, as we will be sending in our updates soon.

Individual, Youth and Family Member Benefits:

  • Receive automatic enrollment in the US SAILING Accident Insurance Program
  • Participate in US SAILING insurance programs through the Gowrie Group
  • Receive a copy of The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012
